Music Events and Activities Open to the Public
Summer 2008 Highlights

 

Dear Friends,
We are very pleased once again to announce the opening of our International Violin Mastercourse at the Keshet Eilon Music Center in Kibbutz Eilon in the Western Galilee. Events open to the public will begin on Saturday afternoon, July 26th, with a masterclass led by Edward Grach (Russia), and will close on Tuesday evening, August 12th, with a Final Gala Concert at the Opera House – The Performing Arts Center in Tel Aviv. The music events are open to the public at no cost, except for the formal concerts and a few other events, where a modest fee will be charged to cover expenses.

Come and enjoy a distinctive musical experience in an international atmosphere!

The public is invited to observe and attend:
Violin masterclasses led by senior faculty in the Keshet Eilon Concert Hall, afternoons at 5:30 pm.

 

Concerts featuring the finest violin repertory performed by outstanding young violinists from all parts of the world, Keshet Eilon Concert Hall, evenings at 8:15 pm.

 

Individual lessons by the Keshet Eilon faculty given to the young artists daily in the morning and early afternoon. 
 

Violin- and Bow-making Atelier directed by Amnon and Avshalom Weinstein (Israel) and Daniel Schmidt (Germany), open daily except Saturday.

 

The Keshet Eilon Archery Program directed by professional archery instructors, Sundays through Thursdays in the Eilon Sports Hall (visitors: observation only).



Special events in the 2008 Mastercourse marking the 60th anniversary of the state of Israel
A main event: A Tribute to Violin Playing in Israel, Past and Present. A special evening commemorating Israel's 60th anniversary through the prism of violin playing, accompanied by pictures, films and historic recordings, compiled and presented by Prof. Itzhak Rashkovsky, Music Director of Keshet Eilon.

 

Lifetime Achievement Award, event in honor of the eminent violinist and teacher Haim Taub, for his distinctive contribution to the 'advancement of music and violin playing in Israel'.

 

Premiere of Israeli songs arranged especially for the Keshet Eilon violin ensemble.

 

Other special events
Festive Chamber Music Concert marking the opening of the Mastercourse,featuring Keshet Eilon's faculty, guest artists and students.

 

Homage to the great violinist David Oistrakh marking a century since his birth.

 

Masterclass led by Michael Vaiman, former student of Oistrakh.

 

Concert: "The Russian Spirit" followed by a documentary film about the artist.

 

Turkish Folk Music and Argentinean Tangos workshops, led by Cihat Askin and Rafael Gintoli, and a Concert concluding the workshops.

 

The Mastercourse Final Gala concert, featuring Keshet Eilon soloists and Ensemble.
