Mastercourse Workshops

  Violin- and bow-making atelier
Violin and bow making atelier  This open workshop gives students and teachers a rare opportunity to observe and follow the art of violin- and bow-making while discussing the art with master violin-maker Amnon Weinstein, master bow-maker Daniel Schmidt, and assistant Avshalom Weinstein. The atelier provides all essential repair work and care of participants' instruments. It specializes in sound arrangements and improving instrument playability.

Special Project: Turkish Folk Music and Argentinean Tangos. With students coming to the Mastercourse from all parts of the world, with varied folk music traditions in addition to their skills in the performance of classical music, Keshet Eilon offers an innovative workshop opportunity to experience the music making of two different musical idioms. Participants will study and perform Turkish folk music under the guidance of Cihat Askin, and Argentinean tangos under the guidance of Rafael Gintoli.

Archery and the art of violin playing

The Archery project integral to the Mastercourse is a unique innovation pioneered at Keshet Eilon, which has gained recognition internationally in the music world. The founders of the course discovered a striking similarity between violinists and archers in terms of coordination, posture, and use of certain muscle groups, and that a violinist will achieve much better results in archery than someone who isn’t a violinist. The connection between the two disciplines continues to prove itself consistently.

Heading the project is violin master Amnon Weinstein, together with a professional archery coach.

The project is implemented with the cooperation of the Maccabi Rishon Lezion Archery Club which organizes training at the Mastercourse on a volunteer basis.
