Summer Mastercourse 2009 Hello! I’m really so sorry to send you my feedback only now! I was very busy when I came back from Isael (I had a big exam to pepare)... I hope that it’s not too late and that a feed back still can be usefull for you now. The 2009 Keshet Eilon International Summer Mastercourse was clearly the best mastercourse I ever attented and one of the greatest musical experience I ever had. First of all, the level was very high and every participant was very determined, wich was really stimulating ; I had the feeling everyone was there to progress and not to be on holidays like in some other mastercourse I attended. Every day was very well structured with masterclasses, concerts and other activities. I felt sometimes like I did not have enough time to practice, but I realize now that I learned so much from all these events! It was a very unique experience to have the opportunity to listen to some of the best teachers during the masterclasses and the open-doors (even if it was generally only 10 minutes, I could get so much of it, especially from Haim Taub) and to compare all their different views of a piece. Moreover, the teachers were so friendly I could even have lessons with some of them I was not supposed to study with. I never had the chance to study with so many exceptionnal teachers in such a short time, and I couldn’t believe we were offered the honnour to play for Ida Haendel! I also liked very much the fact that all concerts had themes (”french evening”, ”russian music”...) so they were not like a no-sens melting-pot, and they were always very interesting as the students were generally very well prepaired. I didn’t go to all the other activities, but one of them really affected me, which was the documental-movie of Mr. Amnon Weinstein. I found it was such a distressing approach of the holocaust and turned the violin into hope and magic. I think the best experience fo me was the lessons I had with Hagai Shaham and Shmuel Ashkenasi. With Mr Shaham, I felt like I was discovering and understanding for the first time a piece I was playing since 7 years. And Mr Ashkenasi made me remember I was doing music and not just violin. Also, I found there was in spite of the pressure a very friendly and kindly atmosphere (without competition or jealousy) among the students that gave rise up to some very nice friendships! And eventually, I thougt people who’re living in the Kibbutz were so nice, so interesting and so welcoming, they made us feel like we were at home. By the way, I could leave Israel without any problems with airport security. But I was sad to go back because I really really loved your country I could visit after the masterclass :) I’m sorry once again I wrote you so late! And sorry also for my bad english. Best wishes, Eurydice Vernay

2009 Here it is summer again! It is a happy time for me. We are again honored with the beauty and excitement of music at its highest levels. We hear the greats, such as Mintz, Gluzman, Ashkenazi, and all of the professors, honoring their students, by performing with them. The the last two Friday concerts have been fantastic and left us with music at its best in our hearts. We try to come to as many performances as time allows. The masterclasses are a joy for any music lover, reminding us, who were former music students, of this important part of entering the world of classical music. Thanking all the people involved for leaving us with during hot summer nights, with a very warm feeling of music and love, as always -- Ruth Krammer Shavei Zion Western Galilee |

Summer Course 2008 ”In order to properly thank you and the fantastic Keshet Eilon faculty and administrative team, we need time to digest what we heard, saw and experienced during the three wonderful days we spent at the Mastercourse. It was a great pleasure to drive to Eilon every day and attend masterclasses, workshops and concerts. I am back home in Zurich, but in my mind I am still in the Eilon ambiance!”

celebration of 60 years of violin history in Israel ”Keshet Eilon touches the essence of the soul. Each encounter with this wonderful project demonstrates the vitality of its growth over the course of the 18 years of its existence. Last night, its celebration of 60 years of violin history in Israel, fashioned with such integrity by Professor Itzhak Rashkovsky, was an exceptional emotional, cultural and educational experience. In these uncertain times, we, together with the young violinists of the future, were uplifted by the language of peace and of yearning for a world with no more wars. Thank you Gilad Sheba, Shlomo Mintz, violin builder Amnon Weinstein, and of course Rashkovsky, without whom everything is virtual.”
Nahik and Havka Navot, Friends of Keshet Eilon from Ramat Hasharon, after participating in the Friends of Keshet Eilon Day

Gala Concert ”It was a great privilege to be present at the annual Keshet Eilon Mastercourse gala concert last night at the Opera House of the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center, filled to capacity with music lovers whose enthusiasm was palpable. Eight hundred graduates of the program over 18 years constitute the greatest proof of the success of this remarkable project, which is not only a cultural program of the highest level but a prism that reveals a beautiful Israel to all who are fortunate enough to take part in it.”

Concerts The programs at Eilon are highlights of our summer. Somehow the high quality of the concerts are exhilarating and leave us with a feeling that there will be great hope and high expectations for the future of the high quality of classical music, so much needed. I wish you all the best for your future endeavors and look forward to each season with excitement. For me, this has been like a musical holiday, without traveling all over the world. The world came to us, and the young people, who will be the future of virtuoso violin, chamber music and the highlights of the large International Orchestras, following in the footsteps of the present greats, such as Mintz, Hendel, Pearlman, etc. Thank you so much for our Western Galilee concert season yours, Ruth Krammer |
