Vadim Gluzman believes the violin has a living soul – and from the pile of performance reviews on my desk as well as from my own ears, I believe he knows something about how to give it breath.

Keshet Eilon Seminars

Keshet Eilon Seminars for Israeli violin students and teachers *

The seminar program reflects Keshet Eilon’s commitment to nurture the next generation of young Israeli violinists and perpetuate the high musical standards for which Israeli violin playing is known. Held at intervals throughout the year, these three-day seminars bring together promising young students and their teachers from all parts of Israel for an intensive series of masterclasses and ensemble concerts led by the Keshet Eilon faculty. Special efforts are made to locate and subsidize students and teachers from peripheral areas and from the Druze and Arab sectors. Scholarship funding is essential to maintain this outreach project.

Thus, in December 2002, we inaugurated our first Seminar for Israeli Violin Pupils and their Teachers, as part of a series of three such events annually – in winter, spring, and during our summer Mastercourse.

The Seminar program includes instruction and masterclasses for pupils, and refresher content for local teachers. Each seminar is based on a three-day format of intensive study. Between 50 and 60 violin pupils participate, alongside 15-20 local violin teachers.

Locating and inviting pupils and teachers is accomplished through direct contact maintained by Keshet Eilon with violin teachers and directors of conservatories throughout the country, including the Rubin Conservatory in Haifa, the Lynn and Ted Arrison Conservatory in Tel Aviv, the music conservatories in Eilat, Ashdod, Givatayim and the Krayot, and the music departments of the local councils of the Jezreel Valley, Matteh Asher and elsewhere.
