The Szeryng Teaching Room

The life and music of renowned violinist Henryk Szeryng, on the 100th anniversary of his birth. On Keshet Eilon’s traditional Friends Day, we held a concert in his memory, which was attended by his widow Mrs. Waltraud Szeryng, and unveiled a teaching room named after the couple.

After the unveiling of the teaching-room plaque dedicated to the Szeryng family, Ilya Konovalov, today Concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, exhibited the Stradivarius that Szeryng had presented to the orchestra, and Keshet Eilon faculty member Vadim Gluzman, who won the Szeryng Competition in 1994 displayed the bow he uses, which likewise formerly belonged to Szeryng.
