Yishai Rubin (Israel)

Born in Israel, pianist and musicologist Yishai Rubin has performed in numerous concerts and music festivals worldwide, as a solo pianist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist. A laureate of many national competitions, he appeared as a soloist with several of Israel’s orchestras. A graduate of the Jerusalem Music Centre’s program for Outstanding Young Musicians, he regularly received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation in 2004–2015 and served in the IDF as an Outstanding Musician. Yishai began his piano studies with Ms. Rina Rosenman at the Ron-Shulamit Conservatory in Jerusalem, and then with Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky at the Buchmann-Mehta High School of Music in Tel-Aviv University, and Gabriel Chodos at the New England Conservatory in Boston. During his teenage years, Yishai also studied music theory and composition with Prof. André Hajdu. In recent years, Yishai entered the field of musicological research, completing a Master of Arts degree at the Hebrew University, and is presently enrolled as a PhD student in musicology at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. His current research projects focus on music of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
