Felix Nemirovsky (Israel)

Felix Nemirovsky was born in 1963 in Tashkent. In 1986 he finished his professional education at Moscow Russian Academy of Music. He became Principal Cellist of the Moldavian Opera Orchestra and the Moldavian Radio Chamber Orchestra until 1990 when he immigrated to Israel. Here Nemirovsky joined the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon Le-Zion (1990-91) and was Co-principal Cellist in the Camerata Orchestra (1991-92). In 1992 he joined the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, in which he has performed in recitals and as a soloist, under the direction of Maestro Zubin Mehta.

Nemirovsky has participated in chamber music festivals in Israel, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Swiss, as well as in the Terezienstadt Music Project, in which he recorded several CDs of the music of Hans Krasa, Gideon Klein, Ervin Schulhoff, and Victor Ullman. In addition, he played chamber music in Israel and abroad in collaboration with Yefim Bronfman, Emanuel Ax, Maxim Vengerov, Gil Shaham, Lang Lang, Julian Rachlin, Lynn Harrell, Rudolf Buchbinder, Yuja Wang, and others.

Felix Nemirovsky is teaching cello and chamber music at the Tel Aviv Buchman-Mehta School of Music. A former member of the Tel-Aviv Chamber Music Ensemble and the Quattro Plus Ensemble, he is now a member of the Toscanini String Quartet.
