Oleg Yakarevich holds a bachelor’s degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and a master’s degree with high honors from the Buchmann- Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University. He studied under Miriam Gorbonos, Prof. Binyamin Oren, and Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky, and furthered his studies in Germany with pianist Matti Rekaglio. Oleg served as a distinguished musician in the IDF and received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. He also participated in master classes with renowned musicians such as Don Marie Farahia, Stefan Kovacevich, Pnina Salzman, and members of the Alban Berg Quartet.

Oleg achieved first prizes in the piano and chamber music, at the Jerusalem Academy.

Oleg was placed third in the Israeli music competition, won first place in the chamber music competition at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, and received second prize in the Yolanda Katz competition in Tel Aviv. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Israel, Europe, the USA, and the Far East.

His performances have been broadcast live and recorded for television.
In addition to his performances, Oleg has been active as a composer and arranger. He recently composed the mini-opera “The Hug” based on the book by author David Grossman, which was performed by the singers of the Cecilia Ensemble from the Moran Choir.
