Hagai Shaham (Israel)
Internationally recognized as one of the most exciting Israeli violinists, Hagai Shaham studied with Ilona Feher and was awarded scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. He won 1st prize at the ARD International Music Competition, Munich, 1990. He has appeared with the BBC, Royal Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, SWF Baden-Baden, RTE National (Ireland), Belgian National, Taipei and Singapore Symphonies, Israel Philharmonic, the English and the Israel Chamber Orchestras. In demand as a recitalist, Mr. Shaham tours throughout Europe, North and Central America, performing at international recital series and festivals. He records regularly for Hyperion, and has also recorded for Decca International, Chandos, Nimbus, Biddulph, Naxos, Classic Talent and AVIE. He is a professor at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University. His masterclasses in Europe, North and South America attract many students. Shaham is a co-founder of the Ilona Feher Foundation. Hagai s a longtime Keshet Eilon faculty member.
