Ralph Kirshbaum (USA)

Cello

The distinguished career of Texas-born cellist Ralph Kirshbaum encompasses the worlds of solo performance, chamber music, recording and pedagogy and places him in the highest echelon of today’s cellists. He has appeared with many of the world’s great orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra; the Boston, Chicago, San Francisco Symphony Orchestras; and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, London Symphony, Philharmonia, Zurich Tonhalle, Orchestre de Paris and Israel Philharmonic. He has collaborated with many of the great conductors of the time including Christoph von Dohnányi, Sir Colin Davis, James Levine, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta, Sir Antonio Pappano, Sir André Previn, Sir Simon Rattle, and Sir Georg Solti.  In 2008, Kirshbaum accepted the Gregor Piatigorsky Chair in Violoncello at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, where he currently serves as Chair of the Strings Department.  In 2012, he inaugurated the Piatigorsky International Cello Festival in Los Angeles which he returns to this season in March 2020. With an extensive discography which includes recordings on the EMI/Virgin Classics, Hyperion, Onyx Classics, and Virgin Classics labels among others, Kirshbaum is noted for his recordings of the Bach Cello Suites, the complete cello sonatas and variations of Beethoven with Shai Wosner and the Brahms Double and Beethoven Triple Concertos with Pinchas Zukerman and John Browning.

 

Kyle Victor (USA)

Cello

Kyle Victor started playing the cello since he was 10 years old. Since then he has been featured and performed with many different ensembles in Houston, performed as a soloist with the Houston Youth Symphony and the AFA Symphony Orchestra, and has played for many different recitals and events. Kyle has been featured on the news several times including a most recent interview with ABC13 where he revealed he would attend the Peabody Conservatory to work with world-renown cellist Amit Peled. Kyle Is an aspiring soloist and chamber musician and also dreams to travel and share music in places where there is none, he would like to create programs and give many others the opportunity to play an instrument that wouldn’t receive this otherwise and he works every day to make that dream come true.

Jan Bogdan (Slovakia)

Cello

Jan started playing cello at the age of five and soon after enrolled at the Conservatory of Kosice in Slovakia followed by studies at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien. Jan has attended master courses by David Geringas, Amit Peled, Hillel Zori, Daniel Veis, Csaba Onczay, Robert Nagy, Tamás Varga, and Ofer Canetti. Jan played as a soloist with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Kosice, Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra, Targu Mures Symphony Orchestra, Slovak Chamber Orchestra, State Chamber Orchestra Zilina. Jan won first prize at “Wettbewerb für Violoncello” competition in Austria, the laureate of the Talents for Europe competition and the laureate of the Eugena Suchon competition. Jan has participated in “Angelika Prokopp Sommerakademie der Wiener Philharmoniker”, Keshet Eilon Summer Courses.
