DESCRIPTION:Ensemble Cecilia – Hymn to Saint Cecilia \nFriday\, November 28\, 2025\, 9:00 PM\, Bar Orian Hall \nA program for an a cappella vocal octet exploring sacred liturgical music\, folk music\, and what lies between them. At the center of the concert is Benjamin Britten’s work\, “Hymn to Saint Cecilia.” \nFollowing the exciting first-place victory at the International Choir Competition in Hungary in April 2025\, Ensemble Cecilia brings the winning program back to Israel. In this program\, the ensemble embarks on a vocal journey between sacred and holy music and secular music – with all content performed a cappella\, without instrumental accompaniment\, in eight voices for eight singers. At the center of the program stands Benjamin Britten’s work\, “Hymn to Saint Cecilia\,” one of the central works for a cappella writing that presents special harmonic complexity and praises the patroness of music and the arts. Also in the program: works by Monteverdi\, Byrd\, Zvi Avni\, Udi Perlman\, György Orbán and others. \nEnsemble Cecilia is a vocal octet specializing in performing a cappella works. DESCRIPTION:Festive Opening Performance – The Israel Camerata Jerusalem with Soloist Violinist Itamar Zorman\nThursday\, October 30\, 2025\, 9:00 PM\, Bar Orian Hall\nThe concert is dedicated to the late Yehuda Zisapel\, a man of hi-tech\, music\, and culture.\nA partner in the journey of “Keshet Eilon” who contributed greatly to Israeli classical music.\n \n  \nThe opening concert of the Keshet Eilon concert series will be a spectacular event by the Israel Camerata Jerusalem. In this festive performance\, the Camerata will host the wonderful soloist violinist Itamar Zorman. \nThe Israel Camerata Jerusalem orchestra was founded in 1983 by Professor Avner Biron in Rehovot. Within a short time\, the orchestra gained an important place on Israel’s musical map\, became the leading chamber orchestra in Israel\, and is now considered one of the best chamber orchestras in the world. He is the Musical Curator at Emanuel Synagogue\, and Shir-the Australian Jewish Music Festival. His energy to platform the highest quality music and musicians saw “Songs of Hope” debut at the Sydney Town Hall. \nChris Pidcock\, Cellist\nCanberra cellist Christopher Pidcock earned his Bachelor of Music from the Tasmanian Conservatorium and completed advanced studies at Sydney University. A Churchill Fellowship took him to Germany in 2007. He joined the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2012 after studying in Chicago. Highlights include international performances and numerous awards. \nEli Vanunu\, Saxophonist\nSaxophonist Eli Vanunu has performed widely across Israel\, USA\, Canada\, France\, Poland\, and Australia. He founded the Vanunu Ethno-Jazz Ensemble. Eli holds a music degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and a teaching degree from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. \nWe will be honored to have with us: \nJean Judes\, Chair of Keshet Eilon \nMade aliya in 1977 from South Africa.
