Evgeny Brakhman

is graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Glinka Conservatory (Academy) in 1999 with professor Valery Starynin, and then made his post-graduate courses in the Moscow State Tchaikovsky conservatory in a studio of the legendary Lev Naumov in 2003. Straightaway Evgeny began to work at the Nizhny Novgorod State Academy, where he has been working until his repatriation to Israel in 2022. In 2017 he was elected a head of piano faculty.

During this long period of life (2003-2022) Evgeny was permanently engaged with very successful pedagogic activities. Being a professor of music, he brought up around 20 students – prizewinners of international piano competitions, served in jury panels of different contests worldwide, travelled with master-courses all over Russia, as well as in Europe, Asia and USA, performed in more than 20 countries. He was a chairman of certifying degree commissions of major colleges and academies in Russia.

As an artist Evgeny Brakhman is a prizewinner of more than 10 international piano competitions worldwide, including Dino Ciani – La Scala in Milan, Cleveland competition in Ohio, Jose Iturbi in LA, Tbilisi in Georgia, Scottish piano competition in Glasgow, Tivoli in Copenhagen etc.; A recital player, performed at such world-famous festivals as la Roque d’Antheron in France, Martha Argerich Project in Lugano (Switzerland), Bolzano and Settimane Musicali di Stresa festivals in Italy, Sakharov festival in Russia; he performed at Carnegie Hall (NY), Tonhalle (Zurich), Konzerthaus (Wien), Taipei National Concert Hall, Seoul Art Center;  joined the Cleveland Orchestra, La Scala Theatre Orchestra, Tivoli Symphony, Bournemouth Symphony, Royal Scottish Symphony, Franz Liszt Orchetra, Russian National Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia. He performed under the baton of Philippe Entremont, Gianandrea Noseda, Alexander Lazarev, Alexander Rabinovich, Saulus Sondetskis, Andres Mustonen, Ja Ja Ling, Roman Kofman. As a chamber musician, he collaborated with Dora Schwarzberg, Alena Baeva, Nikita Borisso-Glebsky, Sergei Nakariakov, Sergei Ostrovsky, Anastasia Kobekina, Boris Andrianov, Mark Drobinsky.

He has two CDs with EMI Classics, one of them with the title “Martha Argerich presents Evgeny Brakhman” was awarded by Diapason d’Or.

Organizing experience

Since 2016, together with Natalia Grines, Evgeny Brakhman has been a founder and codirector of the unique festival and art project in Russia – “Musical Landscapes” www.musiclandscape.ru

The project combines arts of music and painting, consists of concerts with world-famous classical artists and master-courses. In 2022 the 5th edition of that project brought together more than 150 participants.
