Vadim Gluzman (Israel)

One of the most extraordinary artists before the public today, Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman appears regularly with the world’s finest orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, London Symphony, Chicago Symphony and Leipzig Gewandhaus, with prominent conductors such as Christoph von Dohnányi, Neeme Järvi, Tugan Sokhiev, Michael Tilson Thomas, Semyon Bychkov, Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Riccardo Chailly. He has also performed at important festivals such as the BBC Proms, Ravinia, Schleswig-Holstein, Tanglewood and the North Shore Chamber Music Festival in Northbrook, Illinois, which was founded by Gluzman and pianist Angela Yoffe, his wife and long-standing recital partner. Recording exclusively for BIS, Mr. Gluzman collaborates with today’s foremost composers – Arvo Pärt, Peteris Vasks, Lera Auerbach, Giya Kancheli and Sofia Gubaidulina, premiering their works in concerts and records. Vadim Gluzman plays the extraordinary 1690 ex-Leopold Auer Stradivarius, on extended loan to him through the generosity of the Stradivari Society of Chicago. A graduate of Keshet Eilon, Gluzman has been a faculty member since 1999.
