Sergey Ostrovsky (Israel)
First violinist and founder of the Aviv Quartet, professor at the Geneva Haute Ecole de Musique, concertmaster of major orchestras, including Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and London Philharmonic, soloist and music director of the Orchestre “Soloists of Neuchatel,” Sergey has performed with major orchestras in Israel and around the world, including Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestre de la Communidad Valenciana, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony, Cape Town Philharmonic, Johannesburg Philharmonic, and “Amadeus” Chamber Orchestra (Poland), under conductors Zubin Mehta, Dmitry Jurowski and Maxim Vengerov. Sergey is a Grand Prix winner of the Melbourn International Chamber Music Competition, Bordeaux String Quartet Competition, Schubert Prizewinner for String Quartet, and Prague Spring Competition, among others. He plays a 1716 Granccino violin acquired with the assistance of Mr. J. Mayer and the “Tzfonot Tarbut” nonprofit organization for arts and artists in Israel. He is a Keshet Eilon faculty member.
