Jose Songel Sanchis

In a family environment, José Songel Sanchis was introduced to music by his grandfather. He studied piano at the Valencia Professional Conservatory of Music with Ignacio Millán. He continued at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya with Professor Rafael Salinas. He then moved to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under the guidance of pianist Peter Bithell, where he was awarded a Master’s degree and Artist Diploma.

He has also received guidance from teachers such as Arcadi Volodos, Nino Kereselidze, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Claudio Martínez Mehner and Josu de Solaun. He is furthering his musical training in orchestral conducting with Timothy Redmond and David Corkhill.

He has received several awards, including the 2022 International Concerto Competition in Italy, the I Solinaria International Competition in Bulgaria, the II Isaac Albéniz Piano Competition in Spain and the XXIII Maestro Josep Serrano Piano Competition in Valencia.

He has performed at venues such as Milton Court Concert Hall in London, the Gnessin Academy in Moscow, the City of Music in Harbin (China), L’Auditori in Barcelona and the Palau de la Música in Valencia. He has also taken part in festivals such as the Bloomsbury Festival (United Kingdom), the Poros International Piano Academy (Greece), Primavera Pianística (Belgium) and Piano Meeting Ourense (Spain).

In the field of research, he holds a Master’s degree in Musical Performance and Research from the International University of Valencia. He has taught at the Valencia and Castellón Higher Conservatory of Music..
