Pietro Genova Gaia began studying violin at the age of seven with Maestro Luigi Brusini and, at ten, entered the Conservatory Nicolò Paganini in Genoa, studying with Maestro Donella Terenzio. During his training, he worked with distinguished musicians including Bin Huang, Klaidi Sahatci, Jean Lener, Giulio Franzetti, Cristiano Rossi, George Moench, Massimiliano Damerini and Eugene Sarbu. His relationship with Sarbu, supported by the mentorship and friendship of Roberto Sechi, had a profound influence on his artistic development and led him to move to London.
He later studied at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, where he was invited to perform as a soloist in Marianne Boettcher’s Performance Classes. In 2022, he graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Master of Performance under the guidance of renowned violinist and pedagogue Itzhak Rashkovsky. He also holds a degree in Political Science and International Relations, reflecting his interest in cultural and political affairs.
An experienced soloist and chamber musician, Pietro dedicated five years to quartet studies and regularly performs in festivals and concert series. He has collaborated with the Carlo Felice Orchestra, Sanremo Symphony Orchestra and Piedmont Youth Orchestra of Ivrea, and has appeared as a soloist with the Royal College of Music Student Orchestra.
A former Digital Learning Ambassador at RCM London and winner of RCM Accelerate, he founded and managed a concert series at Netherhall House Auditorium in Hampstead. He is Assistant Artistic Director of Keshet Eilon and performs on an Emil Pliverics violin made in 1938.
