Sylvie Barberi

Pianist accompanist at Haute École de Musique de Genève and keyboards player in Orchestre de la Suisse Romande from many years, Sylvie Barberi was also invited to be an official accompanist at several competitions and academies (Geneva International Competition, Riddes National Competition, Prades Academy, Fugato Academy, etc)

Pupil of William Grant Naboré and graduated of the Haute École de Genève and Lausanne, Sylvie Barberi began her career as a solo pianist for the contemporary Ensemble Contrechamps. She had the opportunity to work closely with composers such as Heinz Holliger, Jonathan Harvey, Tristan Murail and Michael Jarrell, to collaborate with IRCAM, and to perform as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues as the Luzerner Saal, the Musiekgebouw in Amsterdam, and Victoria Hall in Geneva.

With her partner, the violonist Christophe Quatremer, she regularly performs in recital in Switzerland, France, Italy and Japan. Their duo is laureate of several international chamber music competitions : Ysaÿe (Belgium), Padova (Italy), Sion Festival (Switzerland).

Among Sylvie’s chamber music partners we can mention Sergey Ostrovsky, Tedi Papavrami, Robert Zimansky, Girolamo Bottiglieri, Jean-Louis Capezzali, Ivan Podyomov and Mathilde Lebert.
