Benjamin Cohen

Benjamin Cohen Of French and British nationality, Benjamin Cohen was born in 2007 in The Hague. After moving to France, he started cello at the age of 7 and joined the class of Claire Oppert 3 years later, in the conservatory of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. In 2022 he entered the Musica Mundi School in Belgium, where he continued his studies with her, as well as receiving guidance from Jérôme Pernoo and Vladimir Perlin. He has followed masterclasses with a few renowned cellists and pedagogues such as Phillipe Muller, Frans Helmerson, Giovanni Gnocchi and Amit Peled, and has had the opportunity to play in front of important personalities like the cardinal of Belgium and the Belgian royal family. He has won the first prize in the Vatelot-Rampal competition multiple times, as well as a first prize in the international Flame competition.
