Magdaline Kovalchuk, born in California, USA, began playing the cello at the age of 15. She attended Azusa Pacific University (cum laude) under Dr. Marek Szpakiewicz, currently pursuing her masters under Amit Peled at the Peabody Institute, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She has appeared as principal cellist at Azusa Pacific University and section cellist with the California Young Artist Symphony. She was a soloist with the Synesthesia Sinfonietta in California and won the first prize at the Charleston International Music Competition (2024). She attended international festivals such as the Chamber Music Institute; Cello Weekend Ensemble with Chu Yi-Bing, Montecito International Music Festival, COI with Larry Livingston, CA ; Tone Base International Festival, Boston; and Violoncels à la Vall de Lord with Lluís Claret, Spain (2025).
