Tokuji Miyasaka

Praised for his “precise virtuosity, lovely tone, and a beautiful variety of colors” (Pavel Hula), 18-year-old violinist Tokuji Miyasaka is emerging as one of America’s top young musicians. A 2025 National YoungArts Winner with Distinction and first prize laureate of the Kocian Competition, he has won over 20 competitions, including the “Virtuoso” prize at Kloster Schöntal, becoming the only American to receive this award. Tokuji has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Seattle Symphony, performing across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with features on The Violin Channel and NPR Music. A From The Top Fellow and full-scholarship student at the Seattle Chamber Music Society Academy, Tokuji studies with Simon James and plays a violin by David Gusset with a Pierre Simon bow formerly owned by Arthur Grumiaux.
