Yaqi Liu is a violist studying at Tianjin Juilliard School and the Affiliated Middle School of Tianjin Conservatory of Music. She studies with Professors Honggang Li and Hanna Lee and has received intensive training in both solo and chamber music since 2022. In 2023, she won First Prize at the Shanghai International Music Festival String Competition and the Jean Sibelius International Online Instrumental Music Competition. She was also selected for the Tianjin Conservatory “Top Student” Program, ranking first in the viola division. In 2024, she became the youngest member of the Asian Youth Orchestra. Yaqi has participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival and performed with leading youth and pre-college orchestras, continuing to develop her artistry through expressive and collaborative music-making.
