Zohar Izhack began her cello studies at the age of 7. She is a graduate of the JAMD High School and Conservatory, where she studied under prof. Shmuel Magen. Currently, Zohar is a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the JAMD, under the guidance of prof. Zvi Plesser.
Zohar is also a graduate of the JMC and has participated in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Steven Isserlis, Frans Helmerson, Gary Hoffman, Kyril Zlotnikov, and others.
In 2022, Zohar won first prize in the Duo Competition and third prize in the David Grits String Competition at the JAMD. She also won first prize in the Dina Turgeman Chamber Music Competition for two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023. Since 2021, Zohar has been a scholarship recipient of the Nazarian Program of Excellence, and her cello is generously loaned to her by the JMC.
