Zohar Izhack began her cello studies at the age of 7. She is a graduate of the JAMD High School and Conservatory, where she studied under Prof. Shmuel Magen. In June 2025, Zohar completed her bachelor’s degree at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, in the class of Prof. Zvi Plesser. Zohar is also a graduate of the JMC and has participated in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Steven Isserlis, Frans Helmerson, Gary Hoffman, Kyril Zlotnikov, and others. In 2022, Zohar won first prize in the Duo Competition and third prize in the David Grits String Competition at JAMD. She also won first prize in the Dina Turgeman Chamber Music Competition for two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023. Her cello is generously loaned to her by the JMC.
